As a plastics developer, I never get bored. In addition to developing new products, my team and I are heavily involved in adapting products as part of the product life cycle or working on solutions for special customer requirements. It's all fun and challenging - in an absolutely positive sense.
But what really gets me going is working on joint projects with partners from our allHOLDS network. In the following, I'll take you with me and show you where we're heading.
The headline for all projects is ‘sustainability’. As I have already described it in another blog post: this topic ‘drives us’. For example, we are optimising the moulding process, which significantly reduces the amount of silicone used for climbing hold moulds. Instead of casting moulds from a thick block of silicone, our customers produce 3D-printed laminated shells that only have a thin silicone skin. This saves material, protects the environment and - a nice side effect - also saves money.
The upcycling of used handles is also an important topic that we are working on intensively with partners and customers: With the help of our resins, worn handles are given a new ‘grip’, significantly extending their service life. As an example, take a look at the DIY upcycling kit from Blocz.
We are also working with our partners on the topic of recycling. Recycled plastic waste can be moulded using a special casting resin from ebalta. We have also set a new trend in the industry with the Macros, which are manufactured using the thermoforming process. The aim is to optimise the process and the corresponding product in order to create a recyclable material cycle in the long term.

Fun is a must: Clemens and Gregor ‘doing some research’...
I think this work in the network is really cool: Everyone has their part to play and contributes their knowledge and expertise. This makes us part of many innovative projects that have changed the industry in the long term. It makes work really enjoyable!
Best regards
Clemens
